Chris and Mel first met on matriculation day at Boston University. Friends immediately, and the rest is history.
After wondering around Beacon Street in the cold trying to go on an "adventure," they went to a restaurant called The Cactus Club. The food wasn't great, but the company definitely made up for it!
After Chris visited Mel's family in Connecticut over winter break, he decided it was time to make it official.
After Mel left for Italy Sophmore year, both Mel and Chris realized they wanted to study abroad in Australia together during Junior year. Between all the studies they still managed to get out and see the country. Even travelling to Fiji and Thailand!
Mel and Chris graduated together from Boston University. Mel graduated Magna Cum Laude from the School of Hospitality and Chris graduated Cum Laude from the College of Communications. Post graduation Chris got a job working for the Boston Red Sox and Mel started working up in Napa Valley with Hillstone Restaurant Group.
Chris planned a trip to Hawaii the week before football season started without Mel knowing he was secretly planning to propose. Between fake emails and false hotel information, Chris managed to sweep Mel off her feet with a helicopter proposal at the look out point on Ulupalakua Ranch in Maui.

"Chris and Mel are two of the most amazing, warm hearted people I know. Their love for eachother is something I admire and I couldn't be happier for you guys."
"I’m so happy and excited that they will both be a part of my family. When I think of teammates I think of two people who compliment each other’s strengths and just being around them gives you a sense for that chemistry. I love you guys and wish you nothing but the best!"
"Eight years, several continents, and two coasts later, I’m thrilled to be part of Mel’s special day marrying “the tall kid from orientation.” Mel and Chris are two of the most caring, intelligent, and funniest humans I know, and I can’t wait to see how they write the next chapter in their incredible story."
"A lot of things have changed in 8 years, but the excitement, assurance, and contentment I hear in Mel’s voice when she talks about Chris have not. They make a great team and I’m so happy they’ve found each other!"
